Kingdom
=======

A Star Soft game: an original game inspired by The Settlers, vibe coded with Claude.

HOW TO PLAY IT ON YOUR COMPUTER
Browsers only run games like this from a web server, so double-clicking
index.html won't work. Live Server is a free, simple web server that runs
inside Visual Studio Code on your own computer.

1. Unzip the download
   - Windows: right-click the zip, choose "Extract All...", click "Extract".
   - Mac: double-click the zip.

2. Install Visual Studio Code (free)
   - Go to https://code.visualstudio.com/ and click "Download".
   - Run the installer, keeping the settings it suggests, then open it.

3. Install Live Server (once only)
   - Click the Extensions icon in the bar down the left-hand side (four small
squares), or press Ctrl+Shift+X (Cmd+Shift+X on a Mac).
   - Type "Live Server" in the search box at the top.
   - Click "Live Server" by Ritwick Dey, then click the blue "Install" button.

4. Open the game folder
   - File > Open Folder... (Mac: File > Open...).
   - Go into the unzipped folder until you can see index.html next to a
folder called engine. (Windows sometimes puts the folder inside another
folder with the same name: go into the inner one.)
   - Click "Select Folder" (Mac: "Open"). If asked whether you trust the
authors, click "Yes, I trust the authors".

5. Play
   - Click the Explorer icon at the top of the left-hand bar to see the files.
   - Right-click index.html and choose "Open with Live Server" (or click
"Go Live" in the blue bar at the bottom of the window).
   - Your browser opens the start page. Click PLAY.
   - To switch Live Server off, click "Port : 5500" in the blue bar.

You can also upload the whole folder to any web host.
